I am a software architect, currently working at Cosylab on the control system software that is used in the Space & Astronomy sector. I am a generalist, therefore my day to day job is a mix of:

• Architectural design
• Performance tuning
• Mentoring & code reviews
• Development environment improvements
• Requirement gathering and task estimation
• Software quality improvements on the company level

Projects

In the past, I worked on the following projects:

• Core infrastructure and a data archiving system for the world's largest telescope (ESO E-ELT)
• Control system for monitoring and controlling of ESA space systems (ESA EGS-CC)
• Control system for a particle accelerator (DESY XFEL)
• Control system for a cancer treatment machine (Treatment One)

Skills

Due to the nature of my job I have to be comfortable with anything that a large software project demands: from designing distributed systems, programming in various languages to setting up Linux servers and continuous integration systems.
